A practical viability gate. No costs, no savings claims, no product comparisons. It focuses on day-to-day friction: where you charge, how often you’d depend on public charging, and how much disruption you can tolerate.

1) Where will the car usually be parked overnight (most nights)?

A) On my own property, in a space I control B) Shared/private car park (allocated or unallocated), controlled by someone else C) On-street / varies / no reliable overnight place

If you’re unsure, pick the option that’s true most weeks.

2) Do you have a reliable place you can charge that fits into your normal routine (without needing luck, queueing, or negotiation)?

A) Yes — at home (or where I park overnight) B) Yes — at work or another regular destination I’m at anyway C) No / not reliably / not sure

“Not sure” is treated as “not reliable”. This is to avoid optimistic assumptions in expensive decisions.

3) If you got an EV now, would you need public rapid charging to keep the car usable day-to-day?

A) No — only occasionally (e.g. longer trips) B) Yes — roughly weekly C) Yes — multiple times a week / most weeks

Public-only charging can be workable for some people. The question here is how much it becomes a routine dependency.

4) Do you regularly do longer drives where delays would be a problem (tight schedules, work calls, family timing) and you can’t easily absorb charging disruption?

A) No — not regularly B) Yes — regularly C) Not sure / varies

This does not measure miles. It checks whether charging disruption would often be costly in your real schedule.
